ADEM: Access and Delivery of Essential Medicines

Access and Delivery of Essential Medicines has a three-fold mission: (1) improve student education and exposure with regards to neglected diseases, underserved and impoverished markets, disease profiles of lower and middle income countries, pricing and distribution of biomedical end products (such as drugs and medical devices), and intellectual property in medicine and its effect on delivery of health care; (2) facilitate interdisciplinary discussions (including Law, Business, and Graduate students of different backgrounds and perspectives), proposal and development of methods to help improve delivery and access to essential biomedical end products and services in underserved and impoverished markets; (3) to increase awareness of research concerning neglected diseases, and diseases predominantly affecting people who are too poor to constitute a market attractive to private-sector R&D investment.  If you are interested in learning more about the group please contact Shah Ali (shahali@stanford.edu).
